Welcome to the New Pastor of Oak Grove UMC!
Rev. Don Kirsch will begin serving at Oak Grove UMC at interim pastor starting in September.
Don and his high school sweetheart, Anita married in 1967 and the same year he enlisted in the US Air Force. Twenty six years later, Don retired from the Air Force and answered God’s call to pastoral ministry. He graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary in 1996 and served United Methodist churches along Florida’s northern gulf coast.
Since retiring from full time pastoral ministry, he has served several congregations in the North Texas Annual Conference as a Transitional Intentional Interim Ministry Specialist and as a coach to a number of pastors and congregations.
Don and Anita moved to Texas in 2010 to be near their daughter and two of their grandchildren. Their son and his family (with two other grandkids) live in Tampa, Florida. Don has been skydiving, drove a NASCAR race car, and enjoys golf, travel and taking long walks with Anita.
Pastor Donna is leaving to serve as a Chaplain/Bereavement Coordinator at New Horizon’s Hospice in Denton.
