COVID-19 Virus Update

March 13, 2020

March 15 and 22

 Dear Oak Grove Church Family,

The situation and emerging information concerning the Covid 19 virus remain very fluid and that requires that we all resolve to take the recommended precautions, use sound judgment, and remain flexible in this ever-changing environment.

I just received an email from the Bishop of our Annual Conference strongly recommending that all UM churches in our district cancel worship services this Sunday, March 15 and next Sunday, March 22.  We will, of course, comply and begin an information campaign to notify our church family and the public of this decision.  We are also canceling bible studies and other small group activities as well as notifying tenants who use our facilities that our facilities are temporarily unavailable to them.  Please call those you know that do not have email and share this information with them.

This is our way of participating in the effort to arrest the spread of Covid 19 and bring about its ultimate defeat.  I will keep you informed as other developments emerge.

Meanwhile, let us encourage one another in faith and resist the impulse to give in to fear.  Our God is good, He is present, and He is powerful.  He can and will help us through everything, even this.  Hold in your heart, in your mind, and on your lips the words of Proverbs 3:5-6:  Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.  In all your ways and circumstances acknowledge and trust Him and He will direct your steps. For Christ and his kingdom; peace, grace, and love to you,
Pastor Don

John 3:16

God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him won’t perish but will have eternal life.
