Social Distancing Update: March 18, 2020

March 18, 2020

Dear Church Family,

Yesterday’s COVID-19 update from the Bishop of our North Texas Annual Conference expanded the suspension of public worship services to include ALL churches in the Conference and extended the suspension through March 29, 2020.  Therefore, in doing our part to guard the health of ourselves, our church family and the larger community as well as to participate in efforts to stem the spread of the virus and bring about its defeat, worship and all other activities at Oak Grove UMC continue to be cancelled until further notice.

Please practice social distancing as much as you can, and more.  There is no such thing as ‘extreme’ or ‘excessive’ social distancing when it comes to COVID-19.

Holy Week and Easter

I am working with our leadership team to plan ahead for holy week and Easter in the hope that we can offer some form of meaningful worship on line while maintaining the maximum standards of social distancing.

Safety in Stewardship and Giving

Our finance team has assured us that the mail will be recovered at the church daily to ensure that mailed offerings are handled and processed safely and as quickly as possible.

Those that would prefer e-giving can set up an automatic draft with your bank or use the option offered by our Annual Conference at the link below:

Online Giving

Simply click on that link and you will be directed to the site to give to Oak Grove through the conference with a credit or debit card.  Be sure to name the church as OAK GROVE UMC, AUBREY.  There are two Oak Grove UMCs in our conference!

Finally, please join me at 1030 each morning on our Facebook page for MORNINGS IN THE WORD.  If you do not have Facebook, let me know and I will email the broadcast to you.

God is bigger than COVID-19 and He loves you!

Love, peace and grace to you,
Pastor Don
